Daniel Caro Lopez
This expressive coffee from producer Daniel Caro Lopez showcases a very unique take on the Chiroso varietal. In the cup there is loud tropical acidity such as mango and pineapple but a very unique rose floral presentation. If you have never tasted a Chiroso before this is a great example of this newer varietal. We suggest you let this coffee rest for at least 3-4 weeks and let the coffee cool to almost room temperature before tasting!
From SEY:
Daniel Caro Lopez is a young, second-generation coffee producer introduced to us by our export partners at The Coffee Quest. For several years, we have worked together on a project focused on the Chiroso variety, which is specifically cultivated in this region. His farm, El Tambo, is one of the highest in the area at 2,200 masl and spans 33 hectares (~81 acres), with 5 hectares dedicated to coffee. Daniel primarily grows Chiroso, with a small garden of Gesha, and we are excited to see how this farm continues to develop.
