Julian Calderón Geisha

This is one of the most floral forward and sweet washed Geishas we've ever tasted!

In the cup we find white florals tied to a crisp citrus acidity with a longer and sweet finish reminding us of honey. Once the cup cools the layering of notes becomes much more pronounced. We find florality to become even louder, a much more vibrant citrus acidity, and the sweetness to become more apparent. This is a fantastic expression of washed geishas coming out of Colombia and we definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and expressive cup.

We suggest you rest this coffee for at least 3+ weeks before brewing and suggest you try the coffee 4+ weeks off roast to taste how the coffee evolves.

For a natural geisha counterpart to this coffee please check out our Jorge Andrade release!

From La Cabra:

Julian grows coffee on a plot outside the town of Palestina, close to where we’ve bought several Colombian lots over the past few seasons. Together with his father, Julio, who we’ve also purchased coffee from this season, he has forged an honest and straightforward approach to coffee production.

This year’s lot is a great example of that potential beginning to come to fruition. This is Julian’s washed Geisha lot with delicate notes of bergamot and white peach in the aroma, followed by a crisp and balanced cup, with a deep honey sweetness lifted by sparkling citrus.
