Karani AA

Vibrant, crisp, sweet, classic Kenyan profile!

This is a fantastic example of well processed (and roasted) Kenyan coffee that highlights expressive acidity and deep fruit notes. We get a sparkly red fruit and berry-like acidity that is tied together with a sweet and round caramel finish. This is a super easy to drink cup that offers a very balanced profile between acidity and sweetness. We also want to mention Regalia's roasting style here which highlights a zesty acidity presentation but presents a round and sweet finish.

We suggest you taste this coffee alongside our Kiaria AA release for a different expression of an equally stellar washed Kenyan coffee.

From Regalia:
Karani Factory was constructed 1998 and operated by the Kabare Cooperative Society and serves. Mount Kenya is visible from the factory and the surrounding farms. Smallholder farmers grow there trees in sandy volcanic soil which are prime conditions for growing high quality coffee. Coffees from Karani are known for their vibrant acidity and complex flavors. Tasting notes often include ripe fruit, berries, and candy, with some variations highlighting black currant, kumquat, and caramel.
