Peru Puno Hermanos Quilla Bourbon
This clean and sweet Peru Bourbon is a great representation of Peruvian terroir! We taste Guava, Marzipan, and a sweet honey finish. The profile of this coffee's acidity is very deep and we find this coffee to really open up with at least 2-3 weeks of rest. The Guava and Honey profile becomes much more structured and balanced.
From Bean & Bean:
In the remote, mountainous region of Pacaysuizo in Puno, Peru, the Quilla brothers—Juan and Abdon—cultivate exceptional coffee on opposite sides of a steep mountain. Their farms, Quillabamba and Chillimana Chucalpampa, are only accessible by foot, requiring a 2-hour hike and crossing a handmade bridge built by the local community.
Every harvest is a family effort—each bag of coffee is carried for hours down narrow, rugged trails to reach the nearest road. This coffee is a testament to the perseverance, dedication, and deep-rooted knowledge passed down through generations.
The result is a cup that reflects both the rugged beauty of the land and the hard work of the people who call it home.
