Sidra Lactic Washed
This week’s Secret Stash is an Ecuadorian Lactic Washed Sidra roasted by Monta Coffee (Leesburg, VA). This coffee has tropical notes of Mango and Pineapple with a yogurty body. I find this to be one of the most unique presentations of Sidra due to the Lactic Washed process. When brewing this coffee it smells like a banana smoothie! You get an enhanced layering (yogurt) of processing that is tied to a very clean and well structured yellow fruit acidity. Once cooled, you get yogurt processing with vibrant yellow fruits and a clean finish. I think this is a coffee that will be very much enjoyed by both Washed and Natural coffee drinkers.
As always, please rest this coffee for a few weeks before brewing! This is a coffee that will really start opening up around 4+ weeks off roast.
